Proposal to amend the Darwin High School Board Constitution
The proposed changes seek to make the board more effective and improve student representation. Under the Departmental guidelines parent members must be comprise 50% or more of the board positions.
As noted above it is a requirement of the department that schools review their constitutions annually, and it is widely considered good governance for boards to regularly review their effectiveness and functions.

What are the changes being proposed?
To increase student representation by 1, reduce parent and teacher reps by 2 each and reduce invited members by 1.
The current Board composition: The Principal, 10 parents, 4 teachers, 1 Student, and 3 Invited Members. Total = 19
The proposed Board composition: The Principal, 8 parents, 2 teachers, 2 Students, and 2 Invited Members. Total = 15
