NT Government secondary student exchange program
The secondary student exchange program is a reciprocal program: Northern Territory students attend high school and enrol in a full time school program in another country for a minimum of three months and students from other countries undertake study in the Northern Territory under similar conditions. The objectives of the program are to:
- provide educational enrichment for exchange students by developing their linguistic skills and introducing them to a different educational philosophy, environment and curriculum
- develop cultural awareness and understanding among students in the school environment
- promote international understanding and cooperation.
This program is coordinated by the NT Department of Education in partnership with several registered secondary student exchange organisations
