​School Community Spirit

I was recently overwhelmed by the number of responses from our Year 10, 11 and 12 students when she put out an email call for those willing to be interviewed. I was absolutely delighted with the enthusiastic responses I received and it reminded me of how wonderful our DHS students are.

My SIEU class had been learning interview techniques and were keen to practise their English and meet students in the mainstream. They were very shy and nervous, but the mainstream students were so friendly and understanding and the nerves soon vanished.

This was a fantastic experience for both groups but it was particularly worthwhile for the SIEU students to build their self-confidence as they negotiate a new school system and begin to learn using English.
