Epic! Short Story Competition

The Epic! Short Story Competition is open to all primary and secondary students across Australia. Students from across the country were invited to submit an original 300 word story on this year’s theme, ‘Friendship’.

From the Top End to Tasmania, 400 students entered their short stories in the competition. Congratulations to Darwin High School student Morgan Gurry, who made the top of the Secondary Honour Roll in the Epic! Short Story Competition! She will be receiving a book pack in the mail in the next few weeks and was the only student to make the Honour Roll from the NT.

The Footpath Library’s Founding Director, Sarah Garnett said that

The judges (and I) LOVED your story! Fantastic effort.

Darwin High School also won the prize for the school with the most entries and will receive a Street Library to install in its community.

Epic! Program Co-Ordinator, Meredith Jaffé said

Congratulations to all the winners and our sincere thanks to all of the entrants. We loved reading your work and discovering through it, new ways of thinking about friendship and what it means.
