The Stage 2 Child Studies Class supported Jeans for Genes day by raising funds for the Children’s Medical Research Institute.
Darwin High School entered two teams in the Darwin City Council annual Climate Change Challenge. The Climate Change Challenge gives the participating students an opportunity to explore environmental issues on both a local and global scale.
Darwin High and CPA Australia have finalised a partnership that that will provide Business and Accounting students with access to industry professionals, mentors, subject prizes and internship opportunities in accounting practices and financial management teams.
Darwin High School welcomed Mrs Monica Oliphant AO to our school assembly. Mrs Oliphant was here on behalf of the Oliphant family to present Darwin High with a portrait of renowned physicist, Sir Mark Oliphant, her father-in-law. The portrait is on long-term loan to the school and will be displayed in the E Block Science area.
Over the school break, four Darwin High School students participated in the YMCA’s Youth Parliament.
For over ten years, Darwin High School Teacher and Faculty Senior for Health/PE, Penny Mcintyre, has been working with respected early childhood educator, Louise de Bomford-Scott. Together they provide Senior Secondary students with hands on experiences in the child care sector.
Last week Darwin High welcomed students from our feeder middle schools for a ‘taster’ of the many subjects on offer should they enrol with us next year.
Darwin High School students were involved in operation Bring Them Home an initiative of the Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia Northern Territory Branch.
Darwin High hosted the first ever Darwin round of the World Scholar’s Cup
