On Monday 21 October the Honourable Selena Uibo MLA, Minister for Education officially opened Darwin High Schools new STEAM building. The event was also attended by many members of our school community, who joined us in celebrating this incredible new facility.
This semester saw over 151 Year 10 Darwin High School students take part in Work Experience. The range of workplaces available to the students was enormous. Students were given the opportunity to gain experience working in research, specialised trades, retail, health, education, administration and the performing arts.
On Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 September 250 Darwin High School students participated in the 2019 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC) Outreach Program.
On Friday 23 August, Darwin High, hosted its annual Seniors’ Morning of Entertainment event. Proudly in its eleventh year, many of the guests declared it the highlight of the Seniors’ Month Calendar.
Students, families and staff of Northern Territory schools are invited to participate in the 2019 School Survey.
The Darwin High School band has had a busy schedule this term, performing at a whole school assembly, the Persona Indonesia celebrations and next week at our Seniors’ Morning of Entertainment.
On Tuesday 13 August Darwin High School dance students had the privilege of working with world renowned dancers from the Bangarra Dance Theatre.
On Thursday 27 June, Darwin High School had the pleasure of welcoming twenty-five students and their teacher from Engadine High School in Sydney. The group of dance, drama, performing arts and student leaders were keen to include Darwin High in their cultural tour of the Top End.
Darwin High School Year 12 student Ellie Clarke chose to support local children’s hospital wards in a fundraiser for Give Me 5 for Kids this term.
