Last month Darwin High School was fortunate enough to receive a visit from members of the Chiba Family, descendants of one of the submariners who perished in the I-124 Japanese submarine sinking on the 20th of January, 1942 off the coast of the Northern Territory.
Later this year the Darwin High School World Challenge team of nineteen students and three teachers, will head to Malawi and Zambia in Africa. The group will spend thirty days exploring the region and participating in a community project.
In the last few weeks of the school term Darwin High School Year 10 Food for Life students undertook an assessed group activity which required them to plan and prepare meals utilizing rescued food for Foodbank.
On Thursday 22 November fourteen Darwin High School students received recognition at The NT Youth Business Awards at Parliament House Darwin for their efforts and achievements in business and enterprise. This month, The Indonesian Consulate held an Angklung workshop for schools in Darwin and on Thursday 8 November some of our Indonesian Language students had the opportunity to explore language through music.
