“Civics can be fun” is the verdict of Darwin High School’s Legal Studies students from Years 10, 11, and 12, as well as three classes of Secondary Intensive English Unit (SIEU) students, after competing in teams in a “Democracy Dash” within the School on Friday 25 May.
On Friday 18 May Darwin High School held its second annual Health Expo event in the Tank.
DHS’s Dance Department have been cultivating their community dance event, Dance Showcase, and this year it celebrated its 8th year in existence.
Earlier this month the Darwin High School Mooting Team, comprising Samuel Roussos, Braeden Parnell and Diana Mukayeva, flew to the Gold Coast to compete in the Bond University National High School Mooting Competition. They were impressive in the delivery of their submissions and were awarded an Honourable Mention by the judges.
Last week Drama Territory hosted a mini conference for NT teachers at DHS with guest presenter, Brad Haseman, from Brisbane. Brad is the author of DRAMAWISE which has been an invaluable resource for Drama teachers since 1987.
On Monday 9 April twenty Darwin High School students attended the GRIP Student Leadership conference to gain insight and develop skills to apply in their leadership positions at Darwin High School.
Last month Darwin High School welcomed teacher Mr Zaw Lwin a teacher from Myanmar as part of the ASEAN Bridge Schools Partnership program.

On Thursday 8 March, the Year 12 Women’s Studies class held its annual International Women’s Day morning tea which was attended by parents, grandparents, teachers, friends, politicians and other supporters of the students in the class such as the DHS Board.
