Tournament of Minds

​Earlier this month the Tournament of Minds International Final was held in Darwin and Darwin High School was represented in a combined team with Darwin Middle.

High Achievers’

Darwin High School’s Year 12 students have reached the end of their formal classes for the year. Last week the School Board recognised the success of the Schools high achievers. School Board member and Lord Mayor, the Hon. Kon Vatskalis attended on the Board’s behalf, thanking the students for their efforts and dedication to their studies.

Court on Campus

​Ms Goodsell and Ms Schuman’s Stage 1 Legal Studies classes were given a taste of presenting arguments in a “court” in the last week of Term.

SIEU Celebrate Graduates

​It was smiles all around (and perhaps some tears too) at the celebratory lunch with staff and SIEU students on Wednesday as they farewelled the former SIEU students who are soon to complete Year 12 and their NTCET.

DHS War on Waste

​Following the success of the hit ABC TV show, War on Waste, Darwin High Teacher Jodie Clegg and a team of teachers and students have started a movement to Go Green.

Seniors’ Morning of Entertainment

​On Friday 24 August, Darwin High, with the support of the NT Office of Senior Territorians, hosted the annual Seniors’ Morning of Entertainment. This was the tenth year that the school had held the event, with many of the guests saying it was the highlight of the Seniors’ Month Calendar.

Stage 1 Geography Excursion

​On Wednesday 29 August, the Stage 1 Geography class went on an excursion to the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) to examine the Cyclone Tracy exhibition. The class is currently studying a unit on natural hazards, with a focus on cyclones in the Northern Territory and other parts of Australia.
