DHS Breakfast Club – Request for donations
Darwin High School’s Breakfast Club is up and running every Thursday from 7.45am thanks to the generous support from Foodbank. A small team of dedicated DHS staff organise a range of food for all students to enjoy, and all for free!
Breakfast options include Milo, tea, coffee, toast (including gluten free!), Weet-bix, tinned fruit, baked beans and tinned spaghetti. There is always something delicious and healthy for students to eat and on occasion we are able to offer fresh fruit (courtesy of Foodbank) or special treats provided by the school like hot cross buns, mini-fruit muffins, granola or sausages.
The student kitchen has self-serve cereal, milk, bread, vegemite and jams available for students every day, and this too is proving popular.
Donations:
Much of the food we serve is provided to us by Foodbank SA/NT. However, there are some items we provide to ensure we meet the varying tastes and needs of our students. For example: Milo, margarine, peanut butter, juice, shredded/sliced cheese, fresh fruit or honey.
If you would like to donate to the breakfast club program, we are always in need of the above food items and disposable cutlery/cups/bowls/plates. If you are thinking of clearing out your cutlery or crockery cupboard then we’d love your donations for the student kitchen.
If you or your business can help with donating any of the items above, please drop these at the DHS Front Office or contact [email protected] to arrange for collection.
All donations are gratefully received.
Students – does your workplace have unsold food that could be donated to DHS? If so, all donations are gratefully received.
Families – if you would like us to put you in contact with Foodbank for support we are more than happy to help.
