Governor-General’s Visit
On Wednesday 2 March Darwin High School was pleased to welcome the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove and Lady Cosgrove. It has been 50 years since the last Governor-General visited our school for its official opening at Bullocky Point in 1966. Their Excellencies were met by student representatives, including students from the Intensive English Unit who used the event as an opportunity to practise their English speaking skills. Their Excellencies visited a Biology class and enjoyed a delicious morning tea prepared by our Food and Hospitality students. Christopher Bryett delivered a welcome address on behalf of students and Katarina Thompson presented Lady Cosgrove with a posy of flowers to thank her for the visit.
Thank you to all the staff and students who were involved in making the visit a huge success.
