Seniors’ Morning of Entertainment
On 25 August, Darwin High, with the support of the NT Office of Senior Territorians, hosted the annual Seniors’ Morning of Entertainment.
The program for the morning was packed with student performances including: The Darwin High School Concert Band, School Choir and Music students; Stage 2 Dance students; and Plain English Speaking award winners.
The event was attended by over 120 members of the community who also enjoyed a morning tea prepared and served by the Integrated Learning Catering Class. The focus for the choice of recipes presented by the students was in line with the Nutrition Australia website which suggests that diet improvement is achieved by finding ways to maximise nutrition in small attractive portions at every opportunity.
For the first time, the morning also showcased an exhibition by Year 10-12 Art Practical, Photography and Design students. Guests were impressed with a wide variety of works including painting, reduction lino cuts, watercolours and acrylic, macro photography, fashion and product design.
