What’s Cooking at Darwin High
Our Home Economics students have had a busy fortnight cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Here is a snapshot of some of their culinary creations over the past fortnight.
With Christmas around the corner, this week students have worked to the theme catering for a cause. On Wednesday and Thursday at lunchtime this week the Year 10 Stylish Food classes organised fund raising events as part of their unit on ‘finger foods’.
On Wednesday the students sold sushi, pizza wheels, chocolate truffles and mini brownies, with all profits donated to Care Flight. On Thursday the students sold Beef Sliders, Sushi, chocolate cookies cups and Xmas Tree Brownies with all profits being donated to the Salvation Army Christmas Tree Appeal.
All the food was delicious and enjoyed by students and staff!
The Year 10 Food for Life students began preparing meals for Foodbank this week. The students along with their teachers Ms Alison Stringer and Ms Sevasti Redwood have made an amazing 235 meals, which will be donated to Foodbank.
Congratulations Ms Stringer and Ms Redwood and the Year 10 students on a brilliant effort to support our community.
