About the project

Over the 2015 holiday break the Darwin High School Library was given a $150,000 make-over with the support of the Darwin High School Board and the Department of Education.

To complete this first phase of the Library upgrade we are looking for support from the community to enable us to:

  • implement a new design concept for book storage - let us know if you or your business would like to sponsor some shelving.
  • expand the formal and informal reading spaces, and
  • provide additional soft furnishings.

Phase two of the Library upgrade will see the creation of a quite study space and improved computer access.

What our students think

The old library was one big space where everyone had to study together. Now there are more private study spaces and students want to use it more Jaiden, Year 12 Student
Our favourite part is the middle section and the new way the bookshelves are arranged. Amy, Year 12 Student

The SkoolBag App

Students and their families are encouraged to download the Darwin High School SkoolBag app to their smart phone/tablet device. The SkoolBag app allows you to stay up to date with announcements and events, complete a range of e-forms for student absences and excursions and easily contact us via phone or email direct from the app.
