Hayes Creek Rock Climbing Trip

Stage 2 Outdoor Education students get the chance to practice their rope and climbing skills on this 3 day camp to Hayes Creek in the NT. Students create and climb on their own anchor systems, learn to abseil independently and challenge themselves on a range of climbs. This activity is available to Stage 2 Outdoor Education students only.

Yurmikmik Bushwalk

This 4 day off track bushwalk takes Stage 1 students through some spectacular escarpment country in the southern hills of Kakadu. Students have the opportunity to visit remote Indigenous art sites and swim in some beautiful waterholes. This activity is available to Stage 1 students undertaking Outdoor Education in Semester 1.

Barramundi Gorge Walk

This 5 day off track bushwalk in the Southern Escarpment of Kakadu puts Stage 2 student's navigation and leadership skills to the test. Students explore some of the more remote creeks and water holes in the region in preparation for a Self-Reliant Journey assessment later in the school year.This activity is available to Stage 2 Outdoor Education students only.

Twin Falls to Koolpin Gorge Bushwalk

This is a 5 day bushwalk with an additional 1 day sightseeing in Kakadu. The walk is off track in difficult terrain with some rock scrambling. Students visit developed and remote rock art sites and swim in spectacular waterholes.This activity is available to Stage 2 Outdoor Education students only.

Lake Argyle Paddling

Stage 1 students travel to Lake Argyle in the remote Kimberley region of Western Australia to spend 4 days camping, paddling, swimming and bushwalking. This activity is available to Stage 1 students undertaking Outdoor Education in Semester 2.

The Compass App

Students and their families are encouraged to download the Darwin High School Compass app to their smart phone/tablet device. Compass app allows you to stay up to date with announcements and events, complete a range of e-forms for student absences and excursions and easily contact us via phone or email direct from the app.
