Student Support

An integral part of our pastoral care program is our Assistant Principals and Year Level Coordinators. Year Level Coordinators

For many students, their Year Level Coordinator is the first port of call if they have any issues, academically or emotionally. Coordinators advocate for students, give advice and/or refer students to the relevant support people within our Student Support team. In addition to this, Coordinators monitor student attendance and achievement.

School Counsellor

All of our students have access to counselling services at school. If the door is open, students are welcome to 'drop in' otherwise appointments can be made. Our counsellor is able to provide advice and support on a wide range of issues for both students and their parents and can provide referrals to other support services.

Home Liaison Officer

Our Home Liaison Officer is a key contact for students experiencing difficulties affecting their attendance at school. The Home Liaison Officer works with students and families to support school attendance and follows up students who have unexplained and continuing absences.

Aboriginal and Islander Education Worker (AIEW)

Our AIEW works with teachers, students and parents to maximise Indigenous students' attendance and engagement in school and pathways to further education.

Youth Engagement Police Officer

Our Youth Engagement Police Officer is a member of our school community who works to enhance relationships between police and the community through positive interactions with youth. The Youth Engagement Police Officer also monitors road safety and personal safety issues in the school.

International Liaison Officer

Our International Liaison Officer assists International Fee Paying students who attend Darwin High School and facilitates international education groups who visit the school.

The SkoolBag App

Students and their families are encouraged to download the Darwin High School SkoolBag app to their smart phone/tablet device. The SkoolBag app allows you to stay up to date with announcements and events, complete a range of e-forms for student absences and excursions and easily contact us via phone or email direct from the app.
