Interested in the SOHP program?
Entry into SOHP is selective. This means students in Year 9 apply for a limited number of places and undertake a placement test at Darwin High School on Friday 15 September from 3pm – 4.15pm.
There is no cost associated with the entry test. More information will be provided closer to the date. The results of the test, along with students’ Year 9 English folio are assessed for a position in the class.
An electronic folio of your student’s graded Year 9 English work will need to be submitted, prior to the test, to English Humanities Faculty Senior Liam Phillips via [email protected]
Please title the folio as follows: SURNAME, Given name - current school. For example: SMITH, Jane – Darwin Middle School.
Students will be informed via email during the mid-semester break if they have been successful in gaining entry into the SOHP program. If students are successful, they are guaranteed an enrolment place at Darwin High School and will need to have returned a completed enrolment form and any additional relevant paperwork. Email [email protected] for more information.
Please note the Centre for Excellence: Science and Mathematics (C4E) program is a separate program and students wanting to be considered for C4E and SOHP will need to register for both programs.
Darwin High School invites all prospective families to the 2023 Subject Expo and Open Evening on Thursday 7 September from 4.30pm – 7.30pm. The Subject Expo will showcase our course offerings for all Year Levels for 2024 and include orientation sessions and a campus tour for students wishing to enrol for 2024.
