Through the study of Wood Work students develop the ability to plan, design and to execute processes to create, products, and systems from wood.

About the subject

Students learn to use tools, materials, and systems safely and competently to complete a product. They explore technologies in both contemporary and historical settings, and analyse the impacts of technology, including social, environmental, and sustainable consequences.

Students are introduced to a range of manufacturing technologies such as portable power tools, fixed machines, equipment, and/or systems to design and make products with wood.

Assessment

Assessment at Stage 1 is school based. Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:
