About the subject

This subject focuses on developing skills for game development including the analysis of a variety of game genres, graphic design and computer programming basics. Students will critically evaluate a number of popular games and investigate careers in the game development industry.

The tasks will develop a range of IT skills in each student. They will use Photoshop to design and edit graphics and Game Salad to build engaging computer games. Students will work in teams to build a portfolio of games in a range of styles. The system development lifecycle will be followed to encourage the critical analysis of products developed.
