2025 ENROLMENTS OPEN!

Registration for Centre for Excellence and Students of High Performance programs close on Monday 9 September. Registration for the Centre for Skills and Training program closes on Friday 20 September.

Darwin High School is a senior secondary college catering for students in Years 10 to 12. Our students consistently achieve levels of excellence across all learning areas and in the many co-curricular activities in which they are involved. Almost all of our students complete Year 12, and the majority of these students continue on to university, other tertiary study or employment in their chosen field.

Enrolling at Darwin High School

Darwin High School is a high demand school and the number of students who wish to enrol and attend often exceeds the physical capacity of the school. To manage this demand and ensure a fair and equitable enrolment process for families and students, there are two main categories of enrolment.

Priority Enrolment Area

Students that reside within our Priority Enrolment Area are given priority for access to enrolment places at Darwin High School, this is in accordance with the Department of Education priority enrolment area.

The Priority Enrolment Area for Darwin High School includes:

  • Bayview
  • Berrimah
  • Coconut Grove
  • Coonawarra
  • Cullen Bay
  • Darwin City
  • Fannie Bay

  • Ludmilla
  • Millner
  • Nightcliff
  • Parap

Where there is capacity for additional enrolments, students from the two middle schools that feed into Darwin High School - Darwin Middle School and Nightcliff Middle School - are also given priority for enrolment places at Darwin High.

All other students

There are limited places available for students who live outside Darwin High School's Priority Enrolment Area and do not attend Darwin Middle School or Nightcliff Middle School and these students must apply for entry. Consideration is given to those students who either:

  • have a sibling currently enrolled at Darwin High School,
  • have been accepted into a Centre for Excellence program,
  • wish to access specialist programs that are not available at their local high school (eg language programs - Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, Italian, Spanish Modern Greek ) and/or
  • can demonstrate other special circumstances.
