Lunchtime clubs operating this year
Duke of Edinburgh
The Duke Edinburgh’s International Award is an internationally recognised program for young people, building their skills to equip them for life and work. Students who complete the Award learn skills, improve their physical wellbeing and volunteer in their community. For more information Click here
Credit contribution
The completion of the Duke of Edinburgh Award can contribute credit towards Stage 1 NTCET requirements.
Gaming Club
The club meets during Thursday lunchtimes in A12 . Students interested in playing multiplayer LAN/wireless based games come along to a friendly setting. Please eat your lunch beforehand.
School Choir
The Darwin High School Choir rehearses every three weeks on Tuesday at lunchtime in the Theatrette. All staff and students are welcome to join the music students.
Multicultural Club
The group meets on Thursday lunchtimes in A7. Students interested in sharing their culture and learning about different cultures should bring their lunch and come along to meet a friendly group of people.
Games Club
The club meets during Wednesday lunchtimes in the Theatrette. Students come together to play chess, card games and board games. Any questions, see Ms Davis.
DHS Debate Club
Every year our English/Humanities Faculty coordinates and provides coaching for students interested in participating in the inter school debating competition. Debating is a great way for students to exercise their critical thinking and public speaking skills.
Students interested in the NT Debating Comp this year, or just wanting to practise public speaking, are invited to attend the DHS Debate Club. The Club meets every Friday at lunchtime in A3. Bring your lunch.
Art, Design and Animation Club
The club meets in A8 on Wednesday at lunchtime. Students interested in making digital art using Photoshop or watching animation should bring their lunch and come along to a chilled out session.
Activities in the Tank
Throughout the school year students are provided with many opportunities to play different sports in the Tank during their lunchtime. Currently students can participate in:
- Monday – Badminton
- Tuesday – Cricket
- Wednesday – Basketball
- Thursday - Volleyball
Christian Discussion Group
The group meets on Tuesday lunchtimes in B15. The group investigates what the Bible has to say on many topics and also sponsors a girl in India. Any questions, see Mrs Rosie Reimers (Biology teacher).
