CPA Australia Partnership
On 3 August, Darwin High and CPA Australia finalised a partnership that that will provide Business and Accounting students with access to industry professionals, mentors, subject prizes and internship opportunities in accounting practices and financial management teams.
As part of the event, CPA Australia representatives visited a class of Stage 1 and Stage 2 Business and Accounting students. Jeff Hughes - Chief Operating Officer Member Services, and Ross Alexander ASA (a DHS alumnus!) spoke with students about their education and career experiences in the field of Accounting.
Students were able to ask questions about career opportunities, qualifications and the qualities that employers value in the industry.
“Hearing about the opportunities that a career as a CPA accountant can offer encouraged me towards becoming an accountant." Jessica Malady, Year 12
“To hear a past Darwin High student talk about their experiences of becoming an accountant and the many opportunities the career offers was inspirational.” Blake Harper, Year 12
“The talk was intriguing for me because it gave me a new perspective as to what an accountant does on a daily basis.” Dakota Bondareff, Year 12
Our staff, students and School Board are very excited about the opportunities this partnership will enable.
