- Further study Stage 2 Art Practical (2VAPRY)
Visual Arts engages students in conceptual, practical, analytical, and contextual aspects of creative human endeavour.
Stage 1 Visual Art Practical emphasises visual thinking,investigation and practical application. Students develop ideas and concepts, refine technical skills, and produce imaginative solutions. Students work with a wide range of mediums, including drawing, painting, printmaking, screen printing, mixed media and sculpture throughout the course to learn about artists and develop their own aesthetic.
Stage 1 VA Practical students work collaboratively in a dynamic and welcoming environment, participating in excursions connecting to the arts industry, artist workshops and arts projects within the school. Students use high-quality art materials and facilities in the creation of their artworks, developing skills in innovative thinking, visual communication, critical thinking and problem solving.
Assessment at Stage 1 is school based. Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:
