In this subject, students create practical, innovative solutions to real world problems of interest while developing skills in problem solving, computational thinking and computer programming.
Students collect and analyse data to identify patterns and relationships and examine sustainable solutions to identified problems. They investigate how potential solutions are influenced by social, economic, environmental, scientific and ethical considerations.
Innovation involves students creating new ways of doing things and generating their own ideas. They design solutions that may take the form of a product, prototype and/or proof of concept, and are encouraged to experiment and learn from what does not go as planned, as well as from what does.

Assessment at Stage 1 is school based. Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:

This course prepares students for studying Stage 2 Digital Technologies.
