Digital Technologies - Part 2

About the subject

Students collect and analyse data to identify patterns and relationships and examine sustainable solutions to identified problems. They investigate how potential solutions are influenced by social, economic, environmental, scientific and ethical considerations.

Innovation involves students creating new ways of doing things and generating their own ideas. They design solutions that may take the form of a product, prototype and/or proof of concept, and are encouraged to experiment and learn from what does not go as planned, as well as from what does.

Stage 1 Digital Technologies consists of the following 4 topics:

• Programming
• Advanced Programming
• Data Analytics
• Exploring Innovations

This course is only available in Semester 2.

Assessment

Assessment at Stage 1 is school based. Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:

• Project Skills
• Digital Solutions

At least one assessment task is created collaboratively.

Further Study

This course prepares students for studying Stage 2 Digital Technologies.
