- Further study Stage 2 Food & Hospitality (2FHOSY)
In Food and Hospitality, students focus on the dynamic nature of the food and hospitality industry in Australian society. Contemporary issues related to food and hospitality in family and community settings are investigated.
Students examine the factors that influence people’s food choices and the health implications of these choices. They understand the diverse purposes of the hospitality industry in meeting the needs of local people and visitors.
Students work independently and collaboratively to achieve common goals. They develop skills and safe work practices in the preparation, storage and handling of food, complying with current health and safety legislation. Students investigate and discuss contemporary food and hospitality issues and current management practices. Students study topics within one or more of the following three areas of study:
Assessment at Stage 1 is school based. Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:
