About the subject

Through the study of past events, actions, and phenomena students gain an insight into human nature and the ways in which individuals and societies function. Students research and review sources within a framework of inquiry and critical analysis.

A 10-credit subject consists of:

  • skills of historical inquiry
  • a minimum of two historical studies.

Assessment

Assessment at Stage 1 is school based. Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:

  • Folio
  • Sources Analysis
  • An Investigation
