Year 11 Photography is designed to encourage students to explore their world through the language of photography.

About the subject

Students will learn to manually control a DSLR camera & other creative techniques in camera & also through editing in Adobe Photoshop & Lightroom.

Students have access to mirrorless cameras, a fully equipped studio, a print room & an extensive collection of photography books.

In Year 11 Visual Arts - Photography Part 1 the focus is on students learning technical skills so they develop a solid foundation where they can begin to take control of their ideas & learn how to best express them. 

In Year 11 Visual Arts - Photography - Part 2 students build on their technical skills and further extend their editing skills. Students also broaden their understanding of many different photographic artists from a wide variety of contexts. This enables students to pursue themes of personal interest.

Assessment

Assessment at Stage 1 is school based. Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types.

  • Folio
  • Practical
  • Visual Study.

The Compass App
