Students design and develop practical, innovative digital solutions to problems of interest.
By investigating real-world data sets, students identify trends to develop digital solutions to problems in business, the environment and the community. Solutions include computer applications and digital prototypes that take into account social, economic, environmental and ethical considerations and should demonstrate originality, relevance and sustainability.
Students should provide evidence of their learning through six assessments, including the external assessment component:
School Based Assessment | Weighting |

Information on the External Assessment – Individual Digital Solution
Students complete an individually negotiated project over the course of 9 weeks where they design, develop and evaluate a digital solution or prototype. The project, associated documentation and a 3 minute designer’s statement are sent to the SACE Board for assessment at the conclusion of the course.
This Assessment is graded by the SACE Board.
Students and their families are encouraged to download the Darwin High School Compass app to their smart phone/tablet device. Compass app allows you to stay up to date with announcements and events, complete a range of e-forms for student absences and excursions and easily contact us via phone or email direct from the app.
