About this Subject

Innovations and 3d Printing

3d design for product, can include industrial design, cars, boats, buildings, jewellery, aeroplanes even shoes and clothing, and the many other applications. All eventually require construction or manufacturing. This course looks at the design and manufacturing. 3d design firstly, using Rhinoceros3d, generates a coding that can be applied to many existing and emerging technologies of manufacture. Manufacturing, to include the new digital technologies of milling CNC, plasma cutting, 3d printing, laser cutting and robotic augmentation. This is predominantly a 3d design course with the addition of parametric geometry such as grasshopper, which superchargers design into geometries which were not possible until recently. Many international and institutional buildings, such as airports, museums, Embassies, bridges etc. use grasshopper to achieve a degree of last minute building flexibility to access Inspirational forms
