This is a predominantly a practical based course that explores the creative concepts and skills used in film, television and video production but may involve investigating newspapers, radio, video games, the internet and mobile media.

About the subject

This is an introduction course in analysing, creating ideas and making media arts. Students will develop technical skills in the use of video equipment. Industry standard video editing software, digital video cameras, portable sound recording and tripods will be used to enable students to gain knowledge of the production skills for a specific purpose, meaning and style in the creation of their own media arts. Students participate in individual and group work.
