About the subject

In this course, students explore a range of basic food preparation techniques and gain skills to assist them in making wise food choices to suit their independent needs.

Practical lessons are a feature of the program and are conducted almost every week. Students will cook a wide variety of recipes which will give them the skills they need to take care of themselves in a health conscious manner. Students will also examine their diet in relation to the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating.
