Stage 1 Indonesian Continuers

About the subject

Students interact with others to share information, ideas, opinions and experiences. They create texts in the specific language to express information, feelings, ideas and opinions. They analyse texts to interpret meaning, and examine relationships between language, culture and identity, and reflect on the ways in which culture influences communication.

Stage 1 Indonesian at continuers level consists of three themes and a number of prescribed topics and suggested subtopics. Themes explored are:

• The Individual
• The Indonesian speaking Communities
• The Changing World

A bilingual dictionary (Indonesian to English, English to Indonesian) is highly recommended

Assessment

Assessment at Stage 1 is school based. Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:

• Interaction
• Text Production
• Text Analysis
• Investigation
