The Personal Learning Plan (PLP) is a compulsory subject for all Year 10 students at Darwin High School. Students must achieve a C Grade or better to complete the subject successfully and gain their NTCET.

About this course

The Personal Learning Plan is a four step program to help students make informed decisions about their learning and future pathways. The core areas are learning about the workplace and learning about themselves. A one week work experience program is also embedded in the program. The learning requirements summarise the knowledge, skills, and understanding that students are expected to develop and demonstrate through their learning.

In this subject, students are expected to:

  1. know and understand the seven capabilities
  2. identify, explore, and develop personal and learning goals, and strategies to achieve them
  3. select and develop at least one capability relevant to achieving their goals
  4. reflect on their learning.

The Compass App

Students and their families are encouraged to download the Darwin High School Compass app to their smart phone/tablet device. Compass app allows you to stay up to date with announcements and events, complete a range of e-forms for student absences and excursions and easily contact us via phone or email direct from the app.
