2018 Commonwealth Bank Plan Your Own Enterprise Competition
Darwin High School Year 12 Business Enterprise Student Alisa Mai will represent the Northern Territory in Division One of the Commonwealth Bank Australian Plan Your Own Enterprise Competition (PYOE) for 2018. Alisa will travel to Sydney in October to attend the national judging and presentation ceremony where she will be required to make a fifteen minute presentation to the judging panel.
Four of our students were shortlisted in the PYOE Competition where they presented their 3000 word business plan to a panel of judges. This event was held on Friday 21 September at the Merit Partners Boardroom. The Business Education Teachers Association NT (BETANT) organized this presentation to select the Territory winner.
In the Individual Entry division, Year 12 student Alisa Mai was selected as a national finalist on/for her business plan ‘Kaya Marlu Adventure Tours’ focusing on a range of tours and employing indigenous people. She received prize money of $1000. Year 12 student Theresha Chrisshanti’s business was ‘Snowflakes' - the best Korean style shaved ice cream in town. Theresha received $500 as runner up.
The other category, Group Entry, was completed by Year 12 students Andrew Lu and Georgia Braines-Mead. Their business plan was 'NT Cat Café' a place where clients can have a nice cup of coffee, bring their cats or play and cuddle with cats provided by the business. Each student received a cheque of $250 and they will compete with other entries in the Group category.
Congratulations to all the students who entered the PYOE competition.
