2019 AMT NT Awards

On 1 August 2019, fifty-four students from Darwin High School sat the Australian Mathematics Competition and last Wednesday six Darwin High School students and one of our talented teachers were recognised at the 2019 Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT) NT Awards.
Year 10 students Monica Tran (pictured below right) and Mayooran Sathyendra (pictured below left), Year 11 students Michael Fagan and Jordan O'Brien (pictured below middle) were recognised for their achievements in the 2019 Australian Mathematics Competition.
Michael Fagan (pictured below) was also awarded Best in State for Year 11.
Congratulations to Year 12 student Lachlan Anderson, nominee and runner up for the 2019 AMT Inspiring Student Award and our own Esther Tan for winning the 2019 AMT Teacher Award.
The AMT Inspiring Student Award is for a high school student who participated in the 2019 Australian Mathematics Competition, who inspires and supports their peers in the learning and enjoyment of mathematics.
The AMT Teacher Award recognises an outstanding contribution in the teaching of mathematics within a school community, acknowledging teachers who have gone above and beyond to support and inspire their school, class and students.
Congratulations to all students who participated in the Australian Mathematics Competition. Darwin High School did exceptionally well with a prize winner, three High Distinctions and seventeen Distinctions.
