2023 All Youth Conference

2023 All Youth Conference

By School Based Police Officer, Sue Seears

The 2023 All Youth Conference, the NT’s second annual event sure was a blast for the over 500 students in attendance from all over the Territory.

Darwin High School’s small contingent made up for their size with their ‘loud’ engagement, especially when 2015 graduating student Nathaniel ‘Nat’ Kelly (BTN) took to the stage. Their enthusiasm to meet Nat in person was barely containable but rewarded with a face-to-face meeting after he exited - stage left.

Activities included youth panels and special speakers; Jahdai Vigona (2023 NT Young Australian of the Year) and Sizol Fuyana (2022 NT Youth Australian of the Year). Other acts that got everyone out of the seats groovin’ included hip-hop dance performances from the K-Pop Mob and a finale with up and coming rap star Yung Milla.

All students left wanting more and were keen to join in the celebration of youth again next year. Special thanks to teacher Alice Leppitt for coordinating Darwin High Schools attendance.
