2025 Northern Territory Chess Championships – DHS Students’ Results

Over the recent school holidays, Darwin High School and the Northern Territory Chess Association hosted the first-ever Northern Territory Chess Championships in the Tank. It was fantastic to see so many talented players, and the turnout and support were incredible!

We are proud to share the results for our Darwin High School students:

• Rosirang (Rori) Lekoko – Year 12
  • Rapid Tournament: 7/11 – 7th place, Top Female Player 🥇
  • Blitz Tournament: 4/7 – 6th place, Top Female Player 🥇
• Royce Philip – Year 12
  • Rapid Tournament: 6/11 – 11th place
  • Blitz Tournament: 2/7 – 17th place
• Mohammad Etaywe – Year 10
  • Rapid Tournament: 1/11 – 27th place
  • Blitz Tournament: 2/7 – 18th place
• Mathisha Bannahaka Mudiyanselage – Year 11
  • Rapid Tournament: 4/11 – 22nd place
• Thehasa Weerathunga – SIEU
  • Rapid Tournament: 2.5/11 – 26th place

A big congratulations to all students for their effort, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. A special shoutout to Rori Lekoko for earning Top Female Player in both events!
