60th Anniversary Celebration
On Saturday 2 September our school community came together to celebrate our 60th Anniversary with a special event.
Over a hundred guests took a trip down memory lane on school tours, while others browsed the six decades of yearbooks and school photos on display. Then everyone gathered in the Tank for speeches from our Principal, Jill Hazeldine and DHS alumna the Hon. Eva Lawler, Minister for Education, with our master of ceremonies and class of 87 graduate Will Tinapple.
Our performing arts students showcased their incredible talent with music and dance performances and then everyone relocated to Cafe Ah Toy for delicious canapés prepared by our Stage 2 Catering students and a Darwin sunset.
Principal, Jill Hazeldine and the Hon. Eva Lawler MLA, Minister for Education cut the birthday cake made by DHS graduate, Jaime from Jim Jams cakes. Everyone enjoyed looking for their school photo through the memorabilia and on the custom cookies.
A big thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate this special occasion and to all the staff and students who worked so hard to ensure the event was a success.
