8 Ball Competition

Officer Sue Seears is often looking for new ways to connect with the Year 12 students at Darwin High School.

by School Based Officer, Sue Seears

Year 12 students are so busy with study and often just need some time to chill…. This is where Officer Sue can help out! In 2023, Terms 1, 2 and 3 she will be offering ‘chill out’ sessions for the Year 12’s during their study lines on specific days.

On Monday 20 March Officer Sue hosted the first such event, a Pool Tournament in The Tank in All study lines. Students played on all three tables and in some cases had to play doubles matches as there were so many in attendance. During each lesson, a playoff was arranged with trick shots, where students had to sink balls into specific pockets. Several rounds and different shots were set up by Officer Sue and a prize for the student remaining was awarded.

Next Term Officer Sue hopes to host two events; a Handball Fun Day and a Table Tennis Tournament. She is still hoping for some feedback from Year 12 students as to what will be on offer in Term 3. Stay tuned!
