Awareness Excursion to RDH

Thirty-one Darwin High School students had the opportunity to visit Royal Darwin Hospital on Friday 13 September and take part in the P.A.R.T.Y Program.
The P.A.R.T.Y Program is a dynamic, interactive injury prevention and health promotion program designed for high school students. It is designed to help teenagers learn about some of the dangers of risk-taking behaviour and the tragic consequences that can occur if you participate in this type of behaviour.
Paramedics, Fire Rescue Service, doctors, nurses and physiotherapists described the painful journey of a trauma patient. The students learnt about head and spinal injuries and had hands-on experience with some of the equipment used in trauma care and rehabilitation.
