Bangarra Dance Theatre Workshop

Bangarra Dance Theatre Workshop

On Tuesday 13 August Darwin High School dance students had the privilege of working with world renowned dancers from the Bangarra Dance Theatre.

Bangarra is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisation and one of Australia’s leading performing arts companies, widely acclaimed nationally and around the world for its powerful dancing, distinctive theatrical voice and utterly unique soundscapes, music and design.

Bangarra’s annual program includes a national tour of education programs, workshops and special performances and projects.

The Bangarra dancers were captivating, stunning, grounded and inspirational. Their fluid movements were a unique fusion of traditional and contemporary fueled by the spirits, energy and stories of indigenous culture. Each dancer shared their innovative artistic and outstanding technical skills throughout the workshop and generously shared their knowledge and passion for dance with DHS students.

Vamp TV filmed the workshop and our DHS dance students also wowed Bangarra with their skills and their commitment. A fabulous dance event that enabled all dancers to share their past and future in a fun and inspirational workshop.
