Beat Awards 2016
On 19 May, the 2016 Beat Awards function was held at Government House, hosted by the patron of the Beat Foundation His Honour, The Honourable John Hardy OAM. Each year the foundation supports a program of awards that recognise and celebrate the achievements of young people in the Performing Arts - Music, Dance and Drama. The applications are reviewed by an independent panel made up of members of the Beat Foundation Board and the Arts industry and Arts education.
Several students from the Bullocky Point Education Precinct received awards:
ENCOURAGEMENT AWARD - Erini Giallouris
ACHIEVEMENT AWARD - Aaron Berthon, Eugene Duffy (Class of 2015), Lachlan Barker, Omja Das (Class of 2015), Phoebe Wear (Darwin Middle School), Sevasti Diamandopoulos (Darwin Middle School) and Ziggy Durling.
