BUFTA Award Finalists
Two Darwin High School Year 12 students have been announced as finalists in the 2017 Bond University Film and Televisions Awards (BUFTA).
BUFTA is a short film competition for aspiring filmmakers from Year 11 and 12 secondary schools across Australia. The competition has grown to become one of the richest competitions in the Southern Hemisphere and the winner receives a full fee paid scholarship to study Film and Television at Bond University and students can enter a film, made as a part of a school assessment or as an independent project, into one of six categories: animation, comedy, documentary, drama, experimental film and music video.
Year 12 Film student Will Roberts is a top three finalist in the Music Video category for the music video he created for local band Gaia and their song 727. Also a top three finalist is Year 12 Film student, Uday Alexander in the Comedy category for his production of Constable Rebound.
Bond University will fly both Will and Uday to the Gold Coast for their Gala Awards Evening on Saturday 25 November, where the winners will be announced. From all the staff and students at Darwin High School congratulations and good luck!
