Café Ah Toy Open for Business
Café Ah Toy is again delivering delicious food and drinks to students and staff at Darwin High School. The Stage 1 Integrated Learning – Coffee Shop is open at lunchtime Thursday, serving an impressive array of savoury and sweet food, and hot and cold drinks.
The café uses world class hospitality facilities, and gives students a real experience of running a commercial enterprise, including food preparation, portioning and presentation, using an espresso machine, customer service, money handling, team work and problem solving.
Always extremely popular with both students and staff, the coffee shop is again going really well. Profits from last years café were used to purchase additional outdoor chairs and tables under B Block.
Over the semester students take on more responsibility for café operations, and in the final week all aspects of the café are managed by the students themselves. Café will continue to operate until the end of Week 17.
