Chinese Bridge National Speaking Competition

Darwin High Schools Year 12 students William McClay and Hung Le have been selected by the Confucius Institute to represent the Northern Territory in the Chinese Bridge National Speaking Competition in Perth later this month.

Last week the students presented speeches in Chinese at the Confucius Institute Chinese Corner at Charles Darwin University. To qualify for the national competition the students were also required to present a cultural performance and also complete a written test. Both Darwin High School students were highly commended on their performances.

Congratulations to both Willam and Hung on their outstanding efforts. A special congratulations to William McClay who was awarded First Prize in the Speech section and Third Prize for his Cultural Performance.
