Chinese Lion on Campus

Chinese Lion on Campus

On Monday 19th February the Chung Wah Society Lion Dance Troupe was on campus to bless the school. The dance troupe started their visit in the Front Office foyer, paid a visit upstairs to the Northern Territory School of Distance Education and then made their way to the Library and through B covered way.

The lions commenced their blessing by bowing to staff and then going into the office and through the lunchtime break crowds. Staff and students were able to offer the Lions lettuce, which they ate and then spread around. The lettuce symbolises good luck and good fortune, especially for those lucky enough to be touched by it.

The lions were accompanied by musicians playing a drum, cymbals and a gong, and their visit was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone!
