Climate Change and Sustainability Committee

The Climate Change and Sustainability Committee have been hard at work implementing changes and organising events to raise awareness about climate change and environmentalism. On Thursday of Week 2, a working bee was set up in the staff room in between A and B Block where students and staff were busy sticking signage on our new paper recycling bins, which are being distributed to all faculties over the next few weeks.
We would like to urge students that these bins are PAPER ONLY, please do not put food/general waste in those bins.
We are also in the early phases of designing reusable drink bottles and keep cups to be sold at the school. A poll will be conducted with students in the near future to determine colours and price.
As a member of Eco-Schools Australia, we have gained access to their suite of resources and are looking at how we can use these to better understand Darwin High School’s areas for improvement and ways that we can encourage students to make a difference.
A reminder that the CCSC meet every Tuesday at Lunchtime in the Darwin High Boardroom, down the corridor just past sickbay.
