Comms Studies B take on 3x3
This Term our Community Studies B Physical Education class were fortunate enough to receive some visits from Rod Tremlett and Adam Marjoram from Basketball Northern Territory.
By teacher, Ms Allen
Both coaches took the group through different drills, activities and 3x3 game play. Feedback from the students was incredibly positive.
It was a good session and great to have 2 instructors to teach half the class each. There was a lot of practical time because there were a lot of drills' and
I liked the 3x3 basketball session because they pushed us to work hard, it was competitive and it was fun.
Students will use these practical experiences in their next assignment to select the number one draft pick in a replicated draft day event. Students will use the data they have collected from game play to pick their draft picks. Although, if another team chooses their preferred player they have to go back to their data and choose someone else. This is a great opportunity for students to learn data analysis, tactical game play and resilience as they may not necessarily get the players they had initially wanted.
Darwin High School thanks Basketball Northern Territory for their support in delivering this program.
