Darwin High Students NT Training Award Finalists
Darwin High School Year 12 students Laurent De Biasio and Makeah Lind are two of forty-eight outstanding finalists in this year’s NT Training Awards.
The NT Training Awards recognise the outstanding efforts of Territorians involved in Vocational Education and Training (VET).
Congratulations Laurent on completing the Certificate III in Health Services Assistance, while managing the competing demands of Year 12. Laurent (pictured above) completed his qualification via the 2019 VET Delivered in Secondary Schools Program and has also been shortlisted for the NT Training Awards in the VET in School Student category
Darwin High School would also like to congratulate our Year 12 student Makeah on becoming a Northern Territory finalist for the Training Awards. He made it through a tough application and interview process to emerge as one of the contenders. Makeah has excelled as an apprentice butcher with Fannie Bay Gourmet Meats over the past 2 years.
Fannie Bay Gourmet Meats is also a finalist, as Small Employer of the Year. They currently employ 11 Darwin High students and currently have 2 ex-students working for them as well.
The individual finalists will join the organisational finalists at the awards presentation in September. Winners of certain categories may be eligible to compete against the nation's best at the Australian Training Awards later in the year.
Congratulations Laurent and Makeah, we are incredibly proud of your achievement.
