DHS Dance Returns to the Stage

DHS Dance Returns to the Stage

The Darwin High School Dance Department is preparing for its first performance for 2021 with Kaleidoscope, a new work created by the Stage 2 Creative Arts Dance students with professional mentors Joanna Noonan and DHS Alumni Jordan Bretherton.

Kaleidoscope opens on Monday 29 March to Wednesday 31 March from 6.30pm in the DHS Dance Dance Room.

by Dance Teacher, Sarah Calver

This product was designed to provide these ten talented dance students with support to develop and present new work/repertoire, further their artistic practice, gain organizational knowledge, extend their understanding of the industry beyond the classroom and build connections with two local professional mentors.

KALEIDOSCOPE paints a picture of how teenagers rapidly experience ongoing physical, mental, and emotional changes, whilst also experiencing some turmoil about who they are as a person.

Spiced up with complex high order mathematical dance sequences with a twist of animalistic flare KALEIDOSCOPE is about developing a sense of self.

Tickets are $15 (children 4 years and under are free) and can be purchased online by clicking here
